Patient Satisfaction
Every clinic experience is important and Mount Sinai Hospital is dedicated to prioritize safety, quality and the patient experience in everything we do. A random sample of patients who stay overnight at Mount Sinai Hospital is sent a questionnaire asking for feedback on their experience.
Our most recent score of 94.4% (for patients who stayed in Hospital between April 1, 2009 and March 31, 2010) reflects the number of survey responses that were “excellent, very good and good” from patients who completed the survey.
How do we compare?
Over the last few years we have consistently scored higher than other GTA hospitals, which on average are currently at 92.2% overall positive.
What are we doing to improve the patient experience?
Several corporate initiatives are underway to improve our patients’ overall experience, including:
- Training staff on patient communications
- Team rounds for patients and families
- Discharge planning to help patients as they go home
- Improved pain management programs for our patients
- Inclusion of patients as advisors on various committees
