Our University Avenue elevators have now begun closing so we can install post-tensioning cables in the shafts to strengthen the building and to comply with new Building Code requirements.

The following changes are expected for University Avenue elevator access:

• in April, one elevator will be out of service

• in May, two elevators will be out of service

• between June and August, three elevators will be out of service

Once the work is completed on this bank of elevators, they will be put back into service and the east bank will be impacted in the same fashion between August and December.

You can help us and make your wait shorter by taking the Murray Street elevators (one additional car is being added to the circulation) or taking the stairs if possible (please use Stairway 2, across the lobby and behind Second Cup).

Our volunteers will be on hand to help re-direct some traffic during the day, and new signs, including floor decals (stickers), will be installed.

A Sabbath elevator will continue to be available in the University Avenue elevator bank.
