The Mount Sinai Hospital Auxiliary is the largest organization of its kind in North America and has been dedicated to contributing to the success of Mount Sinai Hospital for 59 years.
In 2009, we embarked on a campaign to support women’s health at Mount Sinai Hospital, and this $4.5-million campaign is funded by our immense fundraising efforts through signature events, programs and initiatives led by the Auxiliary and our subgroups (Moms for Sinai and Future Sinai).
Patient Care – The campaign supports the Hospital’s technology program through the completion of the Auxiliary’s Advancing E-Meds project, providing fully automated electronic patient records and medication orders in cardiology and women’s and infants’ health.
Research – The campaign provides sustaining funding to the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute to support the work of its scientists who investigate new approaches to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease, with a focus on cancers that affect women.
Education – The campaign will provide funding to continue work at the Marvelle Koffler Breast Centre, which provides classes to the community at large on mammography and self-screening, and also provides classes to recovering breast cancer patients on health, diet and exercise.
