Zane Cohen Centre for Digestive Diseases

Over 1,000,000 North Americans suffer from digestive diseases and over 100 new cases are diagnosed each day.

zanecohen.jpgThe Zane Cohen Centre for Digestive Diseases is a state of the art facility for both clinical and genetic research in digestive diseases at Mount Sinai Hospital.  It links a team of gastroenterologists, surgeons, psychiatrists, pathologists and radiologists and their research staff in one common facility to enable cross-disciplinary research and to share core facilities in an environment that fosters collaboration and productivity.

While research activities are directed at many digestive diseases the main areas of research are related to inflammatory bowel disease and inherited colorectal cancer.

The Centre will build upon our existing foundation of excellence in GI diseases:

  • The Familial GI Cancer Registry (FGICR) - is an internationally known program which focuses on providing state of the art clinical care and research excellence for inherited colorectal cancer
  • Donors wishing to support our Lynch Syndrome services can make their gift through the Family Gastrointestinal Cancer Registry form on the Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation site. Thank you for your gift, it will make a difference.
