GenetiKit Project Resources
The GenetiKit project is a randomized controlled trial to enhance the delivery of genetics services by family physicians. The objective was to determine if a multi-faceted knowledge translation intervention would improve skills in primary care genetics including genetics referral decisions, confidence in core genetics competencies and knowledge.
This site includes some of the practical clinical genetics tools developed for the project, including:
- an example of a Family History Tool;
- a document called Genetics Pearls for Family Physicians, which lists some of the red flags that might suggest a genetic diagnosis or predisposition; and
- a document called Potential Consequences of Genetic Testing which describes the different types of genetic test results that might be obtained, and some of the benefits and harms associated with genetic testing.
