Nurse Practitioner

Eileen McMahon, RN(EC); BScN, MN, PNC(C)

Eileen is a nurse practitioner in the Centre for Fertility and Reproductive Health. A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse with an advanced university education who provides personalized, quality health care as part of the health-care team. This includes ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, writing prescriptions, providing treatments and/or procedures, and providing counselling, support and education. Eileen works in partnership with the physicians and nurses at the Centre.

Eileen graduated from the University of Toronto with a baccalaureate degree in Nursing Science in 1998, a Masters in Nursing in 2002, and a post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner diploma in 2006, and successfully obtained her Extended Class qualification in 2008. She also received certification in Perinatal Nursing from the Canadian Nurses Association.

Eileen has published and presented research work in peer-reviewed journals and conferences and was awarded a Mount Sinai Hospital Research Award in May 2011. Eileen is a registered member in the extended class of the College of Nurses of Ontario. She is also a member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, the Nurse Practitioner Association of Ontario, and the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society.
