Samantha Yee, M.S.W, R.S.W.

Samantha is the social worker in the Centre for Fertility and Reproductive Health. She provides counselling support services to individuals and couples in the program to deal with issues related to infertility and assisted reproduction, such as stress management, emotional coping, decision-making, treatment closure, sperm donation, egg donation, embryo donation, gestational carrier and adoption. There is no counselling fee for individuals and couples who are receiving services in the Centre.

Samantha received her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Toronto, and her Bachelor of Social Work from York University. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in social work at the University of Toronto with a study focus on assisted reproduction. Samantha has published and presented her research work in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. She has also won several national and international awards.

Samantha is a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She was the Chair of the Counselling Special Interest Group of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) in 2007-2009. She was one of the taskforce members involved in drafting the CFAS Assisted Human Reproduction Counselling Practice Guidelines 2009 to develop national standards of practice for counselling within the scope and context of the Assisted Human Reproduction Act of Canada.
