Samantha has been a social worker at the Centre for Fertility and Reproductive Health since 2000. She provides counselling support services to individuals/couples at the Centre to deal with issues related to infertility, assisted conception and third party reproduction. These include stress management, emotional coping, decision making, treatment closure, parenthood options, sperm donation, egg donation, embryo donation, gestational surrogacy and adoption. Patients at the Centre can contact her directly to book appointments for counselling.
Samantha is a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, and her Bachelor of Social Work from York University. She is currently a PhD Candidate and a teaching assistant at the University of Toronto Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work.
Samantha is a past Chair of the Counselling Special Interest Group of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS), and a taskforce member in drafting the CFAS Assisted Human Reproduction Counselling Practice Guidelines 2009 to develop national standards of practice for counselling in Canada. She has published and presented her research work in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. She has also won several national and international awards for her work.
