1.  Cleaning the Hearing Aid
  • A soft dry cloth or tissue can be used to clean the hearing aids when you remove them from your ears.
  • Do not use water or any solvent cleaning agents, which can damage the electronic circuitry.
  • Use the cleaning tools (e.g. brush, vent cleaner, etc.) you were provided with to remove any wax or debris from inside the hearing aids.

2.  Changing the Wax Filter
  • The filter is designed to protect your hearing aid from wax and you will need to change this filter regularly.
  • Your audiologist will have instructed you on how to do this, and written instructions are also available in your manual.
  • Ask your audiologist how often you should be changing this filter.
  • Replacement filters can be ordered through the Mount Sinai Hospital Hearing Aid Dispensary.
