Pathology and Laboratory Medicine DeskPLM (Pathology and Laboratory Medicine) at Mount Sinai Hospital is a leader in patient laboratory services in Canada. Our laboratories provide support to many hospitals, medical clinics and health-care professionals in the Greater Toronto Area, across Canada and the world.

PLM performs a wide range of services including blood tests and specialized tissue analysis. All services require an order from a physician who will receive the results when they are available.

 

Patient Specimen Collection Centres

PLM has two ambulatory care laboratories to collect patient specimens:

Mount Sinai Hospital (Main Building)
Joseph and Wolf Lebovic Health Complex
600 University Avenue, 4th floor
Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Mount Sinai Hospital (Intact Building)
Joseph and Wolf Lebovic Health Complex
700 University Avenue, 3rd floor
Monday to Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

In order to obtain outpatient laboratory services at Mount Sinai, you must meet the following criteria:

  • your doctor ordering the testing has privileges for Mount Sinai Hospital,
  • you have a completed / signed order/ requisition form,
  • you have a valid  health card or equivalent health insurance.

Glucose and Lactose Tolerance tests are available by appointment only.  Last drink to be given for GCT will be 15:30 (Main Hospital), 16:00 (Intact Building) Monday to Thursday and 15:15 Fridays.
