Prenatal Diagnosis and Medical Genetics

A program of the Frances Bloomberg Centre for Women's and Infants' Health

pregnancy.jpgThe Prenatal Diagnosis and Medical Genetics (PDMG) Program is here to provide genetics consultation and counselling services to the community.

Our goal is to provide genetic information in an understandable way. When it's appropriate, we offer genetic testing, prenatal screening and diagnosis. We also discuss the medical, social, ethical and psychological benefits and limitations of these tests with all our patients.

To have or not to have these tests is a personal decision. Our aim is to give our patients the information they need to make decisions that are right for them, and to support them throughout the process.

Our team includes geneticists, genetic counsellors, and a prenatal screening counsellor. We also work with maternal fetal medicine specialists, nurses, obstetricians, family doctors and others to help ensure our patients get the care they need.
