Since its establishment in 1989, our work in the diagnosis and treatment of sarcomas at Mount Sinai Hospital has gained national and international recognition as a tertiary referral centre that provides a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to sarcoma care.

Patients with sarcoma often require a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

Our multidisciplinary approach to sarcoma care offers specialized expertise in treatment planning and delivery of timely and comprehensive care for patients with typical, rare and complex bone and soft tissue sarcomas.

Cancer Types and Services

Soft-tissue Sarcoma 

Soft-tissue sarcoma is a group of cancers that begin in the connective tissues that surround, support and connect organs and other tissues in the body.


Bone cancer 

Most bone cancers are called sarcomas and are “primary bone cancers”. Doctors may use a combination of treatments when treating primary bone tumours, including surgery, systemic treatment, and radiation therapy.
