Consultation-Liaison
Psychiatric assessment and care for people with meidcal or surgical illness.
The consultation-liaison psychiatry program is a large service divided into teams with special expertise in the major illnesses treated at Mount Sinai Hospital. Our consultation-liaison teams provide assessment and treatment for people who are in the hospital under the care of medical and surgical services. However, many of the psychiatrists on the consultation-liaison team also provide consultation for assessment and advice for outpatients referred by their specialists or family physicians. Some services, such as the HIV program, provide extensive outpatient care services.
In order to access the consultation-liaison team, the treating team needs to request the psychiatric consultation. There is one integrated referral number x8419. For outpatient referrals, please see the General Psychiatry website.
