Settling for the Night

Bedtime medications are given by your nurse between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. We encourage you to be in bed and trying to sleep no later than 12:00 midnight so that you get sufficient rest and are able to participate fully in working toward you goals.

Passes off the Unit

Throughout your admission, the health care team will discuss with you your need for assistance in maintaining safety. Passes are determined depending on these continuing discussions. Although your independence and freedom are very important to us,, doctors do retain the legal right to prohibit passes if they decide this in in your best interest.

Apart from overnight passes, passes off of hospital grounds apply between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. only.

Sign Out Book

Please sign in the book by the nurses' station each time you use your passes, when leaving the unit and on your return. We ask that you do not initiate a pass off the unit during shift changes - 7:15am to 7:45am and 3:15pm to 3:45pm - until you meet your newly assigned nurse.

Pay Phones

There is one phone on which local calls can be made free of charge. Please keep these calls to a maximum of 15 minutes.
