Asthma, COPD and Smoking Cessation Clinic

The Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Education Clinic and Smoking Cessation Clinic helps patients learn what they need to know about asthma and COPD, and the steps to successfully quitting smoking.

Learn how to:

  • control your asthma
  • manage your COPD (also known as emphysema)
  • properly use an inhaler
  • avoid or reduce exposure to common asthma or COPD "triggers"
  • take steps to quit smoking

The clinic is open to all patients who have been diagnosed by their doctor with asthma or COPD, or been instructed to quit smoking.

Usually, a patient will visit the clinic four times per year, although sometimes more and sometimes less. This will depend on the needs of the patient.

Appointments

To book an appointment in the Asthma and COPD Clinic, you need to speak to your doctor for a referral.

Download and print the referral form and have your doctor fax it to 416-586-4507. There is no cost to the referring doctor or to the patient. Once we receive a referral we will book the next available appointment (usually within two weeks).
