With the largest obstetrical and gynaecological program in Canada, including the finest high-risk birthing centres and Neonatal Intensive Care Units, it is no wonder that Mount Sinai Hospital's Women's and Infants' Health Program is a leader.

Combined with the bench to bedside research being carried out at the Hospital's Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute, Mount Sinai is one of the top six women's care centres in the world.

For our patients, it means they are getting the best care possible.

Women have access to a full range of services under one roof — from general obstetrics and gynaecology, prenatal screening, maternal and infant health, to urinary incontinence and menopause.

This is about more than just maternity care. It is a continuum of care. Our programs, combined with the exceptional services we offer women through the Marvelle Koffler Breast Centre and being located next door to Princess Margaret Hospital for oncology, makes us unique in North America.

The unique situation also strengthens the training of future physicians and specialists and increases the Hospital's momentum for attracting leading clinicians, researchers, and research dollars.

The high patient volume and variety of cases has another advantage. It enables the Hospital to offer greater specialization in its fellowship programs, which further distinguishes Mount Sinai from other hospitals. We receive fellowship applications from from highly qualified candidates from around the world.

In less than 20 years, Mount Sinai has grown from offering maternity care similar to many other hospitals in the province to a centre offering obstetric, gynaecologic and perinatal care that has few competitors in North America.
