Achieving Equitable Health Outcomes:

Collecting Socio-Demographic Patient Data in Health-care Settings

Presenter: Dr. Joseph Betancourt, MD, MPH

A celebrated, leading expert on health equity will present on the importance of comprehensive data collection within hospitals. This data helps clinicians learn more about patient populations, so they can identify health disparities and reduce inequities.  

This symposium will explore the collection of patient data in health-care settings as a proven way to measure health inequities and improve outcomes amongst patients. A diverse panel of professionals in the areas of equity and health, education, and human rights will provide insight and experience relevant to this important topic.Dr. Joseph Betancourt
 

Dr. Betancourt is the Director of The Disparities Solutions Center and the Program Director of Multicultural Education, Multicultural Affairs Office at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a Senior Scientists at James J. Mongan, M.D. Institute for Health Policy and an Associate Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School.
