Facilitated Discussion Program

Facilitator Instructions

The person facilitating the discussion program will be responsible for welcoming participants, screening the disability education film, presenting the tip sheets, and then leading the group through a set of reflective questions designed to stimulate conversation and dialogue.  It would be helpful if the facilitator had some knowledge related to disability and health equity, but this person does not need to have special expertise.  We recommend looking at some of our Gateways I materials as background preparation.  The facilitator also needs to be able to effectively moderate a group discussion, monitor group dynamics, and be able to adapt the discussion to meet the needs of different participants.
