Simulation Workshop/Immersive Learning
The person facilitating the simulation workshop will be responsible for welcoming participants, explaining the format of the workshop, guiding participants through the scenarios, and leading the group discussion at the end of the workshop. The facilitator does not need to have special expertise related to disability, although familiarity with the social model of disability would be helpful. We recommend looking at some of our Gateways I materials as background preparation. The facilitator does need to be able to effectively manage a group of participants, monitor group dynamics, and be able to adapt the program to meet the needs of different learning styles.
