SimSinai Core Faculty: Dr. Sev Perelman (Emergency Medicine)



Dr. Vsevolod (Sev) Perelman is the Medical Director of SimSinai and an Accredited Medical Director of ACLS by the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A graduate of Medicine and a Master of Science in Cardiovascular Physiology, from the University of Toronto, Dr. Perelman completed Emergency Medicine training at the University of Western Ontario.
Sev is a Staff Emergency Physician at the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital and holds the academic appointments as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto and as a Professor of Anaesthesia and Reanimation at the Siberian State Medical University in Tomsk, Russian Federation.
Dr Perelman is an experienced educator in the fields of Crisis Resource Management, Emergency Skills, ACLS and High-Fidelity Simulation Training and holds an Instructor Certificates from the Canadian Resuscitation Institute and the Harvard-MIT Centre for Medical Simulation. He is Certified as an Advanced Healthcare Simulation Educator by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
He has publications in several peer-reviewed journals including the "Annals of Emergency Medicine", "Simulation in Healthcare, "Canadian Journal of Anaesthesia" etc. He was the recipient of the Canadian National Resident Research Award, the North York General Hospital Award for Leadership in Family Medicine, and several teaching awards and nominations, including the Emergency Medicine Undergraduate Teaching Award from Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
