Technology Based Tutorials (TBT)

To begin the tutorials, access the (TBT) for PowerChart at www.mtsinai.on.ca/tbt_online. Log in with the username 'tbtonline' and the password 'training'.

The training consists of two parts:

    1. Online Training
Complete the TBT learning modules relevant to the unit where you will be doing your clinical placement. Then complete the Self-Assessment. A score of 80% or higher is needed to proceed to the second phase of learning. You will need to print your Self-Assessment score to bring it to the computer training lab at Mount Sinai Hospital.

*Please do not complete the learning tutorial more than 10 days before the start of your clinical placement.
    2. Hands-on Applied Scenario
The Hands-on-Applied Scenario takes place at the Mount Sinai Systems Education Training Room. It takes 15 minutes to one hour, and will allow you to apply what you learned from the PowerChart TBT.

Once you’ve finished your training, you will be given a password to access Mount Sinai’s PowerChart system.

Booking Appointments

Training for the hands-on applied scenario in the education training room is booked by the school placement office for the following groups:

  • entry level students
  • second year
  • third year
  • fourth year fall and senior level students in fall and winter semesters

Clinical instructors will provide students with the date, time and location for their applied training.

Fourth year pre-grad and consolidation students

These students are responsible for arranging their own applied training. When a student’s placement is confirmed, the school placement office will provide them with an e-mail contact to arrange a training appointment.

The subject title for the student’s e-mail should be Applied Training and the body of the e-mail should include the student’s name, school, clinical placement start date and the unit they will be on.
