Postnatal Ambulatory Clinic (PNAC)
The Postnatal Ambulatory Clinic offers the following OHIP funded services for Mount Sinai Hospital postpartum patients within the first seven days after birth:
- Infant and breastfeeding support; including telephone advice. All calls are returned between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., seven days a week.
- Newborn follow up as directed by a health-care provider. Referral for an appointment is usually made while you are still in the hospital.
PNAC is a service that provides care for infants with certain diagnoses in the first seven days after birth and parents who may be experiencing infant feeding challenges. PNAC does not offer long term infant care, emergency infant care, routine infant assessment or maternal care.
You are encouraged to seek support for all other medical care from your community health provider, or in the case of an emergency, care from a hospital Emergency Department.
