Wheelchair information for Mount Sinai Hospital
600 University Avenue (Main Hospital site)
- You can find wheelchairs at the Information Desk at the Murray Street entrance when you arrive.
- Wheelchair-accessible washrooms for visitors are located on the Main (3rd) Floor, the 4th Floor, and 12th Floor. Wheelchair accessible washrooms for patients are located throughout the hospital.
- The 2nd Floor cafeteria, the Lobby Café, synagogue on the Main Floor, and the auditorium on the 18th Floor are all accessible.
60 Murray Street (across from the back of the main building)
- If you are using a wheelchair, please use the entrance at the south end of the building. All washrooms are wheelchair accessible.
700 University Ave., 3rd Floor (The Lawrence and Frances Bloomberg Centre for Women's and Infants' Health)
- There is a ramp to the main entrance on University Avenue. All washrooms are wheelchair accessible.
Wheel Trans pick up and drop-off locations
- The Murray Street entrance to Mount Sinai at the back of the Hospital.
- 700 University Ave. – University Ave.
- 60 Murray Street across from the main Hospital building. Please us e the walkway at south end of 60 Murray Street.
For the hearing impaired
Special telephones for the hearing impaired (TTY) are available at the Hospital. If possible, please call ahead to reserve a unit at 416-586-4800 ext. 8383.
If you need a sign language interpreter, please call 416-586-4800 ext. 8301 to arrange for the service in advance, and one will be provided at no cost to you.
Language interpreters
If you are more comfortable speaking a language other than English, we will arrange for an interpreter at no cost to you.
When you book your appointment, please tell the office or clinic you are visiting that you would like Interpreter Services, or call Interpreter Services directly at 416-586-4800 ext. 8200. Find our more about our interpreter services.
Patient escorts
If you need someone to help you during your visit to the Hospital, please call the Murray Street entrance in the Main Hospital when you arrive and they may be able to arrange for an escort. Please be aware that we cannot lift you or transfer you.
