The Reitman Centre CARERS Program

CARERS: Coaching, Advocacy, Respite, Education, Relationship, Simulation

The Reitman Centre CARERS Program is a therapeutic skills training intervention designed to address the needs of family carers providing care at home to individuals with dementia.

Our program gives carers practical skills and emotional support to deal with the complexities of care giving. Evidence based skills training utilizes formal problem solving techniques, therapeutic principles and guided simulation for hands on training. The effectiveness of this approach has been demonstrated through formal outcome evaluation.
