Intensive Care Unit

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Mount Sinai Hospital is a special area that cares for patients that are very ill. The unit is dedicated to responding to the physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs of patients and families.

Visiting Hours

The ICU is open to visitors 24 hours a day, and patients are allowed 2 visitors each who may come and go from the unit. Access to patients is determined by the nursing unit manager.

Waiting Room

A waiting room is available outside the ICU. Mondays to Fridays, a volunteer is usually available to assist you. There are two quiet rooms for everyone's use. You may wish to rest or have some time alone. We ask that you use the phone in the waiting room and refrain from using cellular phones.
