Pain In Pregnancy Program referral criteria may include one or a combination of the following:

  • Currently prescribed high dose opioids

  • History of previous or active opioid or substance use disorder
  • Would benefit from a pain assessment during pregnancy
  • History of a difficult epidural in a previous labour and delivery
  • Have concerns related to epidural analgesia or patient management during labour and delivery
  • Are contemplating pregnancy and have concerns regarding pain management

Patients who are interested in being referred to the Pain In Pregnancy Program will require a referral from their primary care provider to TAPMI.
