Technical Education
PLM is committed to the training of students pursuing a career as laboratory technologists. PLM collaborates closely with The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences and St. Lawrence College helping train students from both institutions.
It is possible for students from other Medical Technologist Programs to also receive training at PLM. These arrangements are made on an individual basis.
The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences
PLM continues to support the educational activities of undergraduate and graduate students at the Michener Institute, including clinical rotations for students in the following programs:
- Medical Laboratory Sciences (undergraduates)
- Diagnostic Cytology (graduates)
- Genetics Technology (graduates)
St. Lawrence College Medical Technologist Program
This program includes training in microbiology, blood transfusion services, hematopathology, biochemistry and histotechnology. PLM at Mount Sinai is an accredited facility for the placement of undergraduate students in the final year of the Medical Laboratory Technologist Program.
