About Us

The Geriatric Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison Service is a specialized intensive, interprofessional clinical service that provides patient and family-centred psychiatric assessment and treatment recommendations for elderly patients admitted to the hospital for treatment of medical or surgical illness. Most commonly, the Geriatric Psychiatry Consultation/Liaison Service provides consultation regarding cognitive disorders, mood and anxiety disorders and adaptation to medical and surgical illness.

The Geriatric Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison Service works in close collaboration with professional colleagues in the medical and surgical programs and the Emergency Department, to provide individualized care to geriatric patients experiencing acute mental health issues.
