Course Objectives

A question of continued and increasing interest to clinicians in obstetrical care is "How do we decrease cesarean rates?" This comprehensive one day education program "Preventing the First Cesarean Section" looks at ceasarean section from numerous clinical perspectives. The underlying supposition is that if we attempt to lower the primary cesarean section rate, this will have an immediate effect and simultaneously lower the VBAC rates which apparently have a major contribution to the overall rates of cesarean section. This program is designed for all health care professionals in obstetrical care including physicians, nurses, midwives and residents/students.
