12 North Outpatient Oncology

Unit Profiles in the Gerald P. Turner Department of Nursing

On 12 North, the oncology clinic treats patients with colon, sarcoma, breast, lung and lymphoma cancers. Chemotherapy is administered for patients with these diagnoses. Joint medical and surgical clinics for sarcoma patients occur every Tuesday.

All nurses working in this clinical area are certified in oncology nursing by the Canadian Nursing Association.  Patient and their families are supported through the cancer continuum with psychiatry, social work and specialized chemotherapy pharmacist(s). The treatment team works cohesively to meet oncology patients and their families varied needs.
