Rheumatology

Rheumatology is the branch of medicine that deals with the causes, pathology, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of disorders marked by inflammation, degeneration or metabolic derangement of the connective tissue structures of the body, especially the joints and related structures. It is accompanied by pain, stiffness or limitation of motion of these parts.

Mount Sinai Hospital is fortunate to have a superb team of Rheumatologists who treat the most serious, potentially life-threatening forms of rheumatic disease, including rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosis, scleroderma and systemic necrotizing vasculitis.
