About Mount Sinai Hospital

Mount Sinai Hospital, part of Sinai Health, is an academic health science centre, affiliated with the University of Toronto.

We see patients from across the province and the entire country, who come to our hospital to access specialized and inclusive care focused on patients’ humanity.

Our clinical areas of focus include women’s and infants’ health, emergency medicine, cancer, complex orthopaedics, palliative care, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, geriatrics, and arthritis and autoimmune disease. Our care is supported by fundamental research done at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, a leading biomedical research centre, ranking amongst the top biomedical research institutes in the world and the Bridgepoint Collaboratory for Research and Innovation’s research in health systems, population health services and solutions, and systems biology. Many of the breakthroughs that began as fundamental research have resulted in new and better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat health conditions.

Mount Sinai has been designated with Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada, and is the only hospital in Canada to receive Magnet® recognition for nursing excellence and patient care. We are also proud to be recognized as a top employer in Canada and we strive to offer meaningful people-focused, culture-centred programs.

In 2015, Mount Sinai amalgamated with Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital, and together with the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute and our system partner Circle of Care, formed Sinai Health. Learn more about Sinai Health.
