Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery
The Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of disorders and diseases of the ears, nose and throat.
Mount Sinai Otolaryngology Unit is a 32-bed mixed surgical unit on the 11th Floor North with head and neck surgery, orthopaedic, oral and maxofacial (relating to the jaws and face) surgery patients, and fully staffed with Registered Nurses to provide the best quality of patient care.
The philosophy of our unit is Patient and Family-Centred Care, which means patients and their families are directly involved in planning their own care. We also follow the Primary Nursing Care model to promote an ongoing nurse- patient relationship during the entire stay.
Our nurses are experts in ENT Nursing who value life-long learning and professional development. Nurse sensitive indicators such as good pain control and our low rates of falls, infections or pressure sores, are evidence of the high level of nursing care we provide.
