pregnancyThe Medical Disorders of Pregnancy Program is staffed by an extraordinary multidisciplinary team of more than 35 physicians and nurses, all with expertise in the care of pregnant women with medical disorders. The program is internationally recognized for its clinical education and research initiatives, and works closely with the scientists of the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute.

Our specialists work in the fields of obstetrics, genetics, psychiatry, anaesthesia, internal medicine and the medical subspecialities. They team with nurses and allied health professionals, to provide the best care available to woman and their children.

Women with medical disorders are seen as part of the Special Pregnancy Program of Mount Sinai Hospital at 700 University Avenue. 
 

 

Advanced Care for Women and Infants 
Medical Disorders of Pregnancy is part of a larger program focusing on advanced care of women and infants. Mount Sinai Hospital is a leader in obstetrical care, and is one of the largest high-risk obstetric centres in Canada with more than 7,000 deliveries each year. It serves as a referral centre for the greater Toronto area.

Because of local expertise and referral patterns, approximately 50% of women delivering at Mount Sinai Hospital are considered high risk, For patients needing a higher level of medical support, our system provides almost seamless multidisciplinary integration.
