ACLS Courses (COVID precautions)

ALERT : SimSinai ACLS/BLS courses remain OPEN within Ontario Provincial Emergency Directives.

To All Learners,

On Thursday, January 14, 2021at 12:01 a.m., the government has issued a stay-at-home order to all people in our province.

We confirm that Mount Sinai SimSinai Centre’s ACLS/BLS courses are continuing to be held as allowed in the January 16, 2021 Provincial regulations. (On page 12) of the provincial directive (January 16, 2021) identifies that our program is exempt from the current provincewide shutdown.

Strict COVID-19 screening and precautions will remain in effect and we ask that you please do not attend at Mt. Sinai Hospital if you do not meet the recognized screening requirements. Please review the standard COVID-19 screening questions as identified by Heart and Stroke (here).



Dear Prospective SimSinai Learner,

For the safety of yourself, other students and the community, SimSinai training follows Canada's provincial COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines which make appropriate determinations about the phase of our province is in and what programs can be taught safely.

We follow the most recent Heart & Stroke's guidance for training as well as the municipal, provincial, and federal legislation and regulations.

In general, while considering taking NRP, BLS, ACLS, or PALS certifications or re-certifications:

  1. Where feasible, continue to take advantage of the grace periods provided to defer in-person training. Grace periods are in effect until September 30, 2020.

  2. Where training is required, and you have internet access, please utilize ,Blended Learning options for BLS or Interim Training Courses for BLS, ACLS & PALS for the cognitive portion of courses as your first teaching option. This will help minimize person to person exposure during the practical skill acquisition and assessment for the completion of your certification or re-certification.

  3. Whether you chose SimSinai for your training or any other organization or instructor, utilize:

    • Part 2 – Skills for Interim Training or Self-Directed Learning or

    • Make sure that in-classroom courses in alignment with Heart & Stroke Guidelines for In-Person Training and mandatory guidelines from public health and other governing authorities.


Our Registration Process

  1. You MUST FIRST visit the Heart and Stroke Resuscitation Portal < CLICK HERE > (If you do not have an account, please create one). Once you gain access to the portal, you will be able to search and register for our upcoming ACLS courses (self scheduling is available 3 weeks before course date). Please use course code below corresponding to your date of choice. If you have a problem accessing a course, please contact us.
  2. To complete your registration, please pay for the course by clicking below to go to our ACLS payment page.
  3. We will receive a notice of your registration from the portal as well as a notice from PayPal to hold your spot in our upcoming course for you. SimSinai will follow up with further instructions and more details regarding your course closer to your course date.
  • ***Starting in 2020, SimSinai Centre will offer students a convenient option to stack/combine their BLS Certification (BLS Blended 90) on the SAME course as their booked ACLS training. This option will extend the training by 1 hour at an additional cost.***


2-Day ACLS Provider Course

You MUST have a CURRENT Heart and Stroke BLS certificate . You will be asked to present your BLS card from your last course, if it is not found on the Heart and Stroke Training Portal.

The course and exam will be based on the 2015 Heart and Stroke Foundation Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Manual. Purchase ACLS Manual Here.

    Due to COVID restrictions (including a maximum of 8 attendees per course), our ACLS programs can fill up quickly! Last minute cancellations do occur, so we would be happy to include you on our wait list by emailing us directly at < [email protected] >. Please be sure to include in your email your contact info and the date and type of program you are interested in. We are also happy to develop private program dates for groups of 6 minimum and 8 maximum. Dates selected will be dependent upon instructor availability.

You MUST have a CURRENT Heart and Stroke BLS certificate and have completed your last ACLS course within the past 2 years. You will be asked to present your BLS and ACLS Provider Card from your last course, if they are not found on the Heart and Stroke Training Portal.

Note for postgraduate medical trainees from University of Toronto:

Course fees are paid by the Postgraduate Office for eligible trainees taking their first 2-day ACLS Provider Course .  SimSinai Centre will confirm your eligibility for this subsidy, however course participants are responsible for the full cost of the course ($395.00) should they be deemed ineligible by the Postgraduate Office.
