Managing Appetite Loss

Loss of appetite means you don’t feel like eating. Appetite loss is common for people with cancer and can be caused by many things, including pain, fatigue, side-effects of treatments or depression, to name a few. However, to fight your cancer you need energy. If you are not able to eat you may lose weight and not have the strength you need for your treatments. Talk to your health care team. Our dietitians will support you and design an easy-eating plan that fits with your life.

The experts at Cancer Care Ontario have created a guide for people who have cancer-related appetite loss. The guide has information relevant to patients, their family, friends or caregivers. It does not replace advice from your health care team.
