Dentistry

The Department of Dentistry is a full-service, teaching and research unit, affiliated with the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto.

Oral/dental care is provided for Hospital inpatients and for outpatients when their medical, physical or mental status indicates the need for a hospital environment.

The Department of Dentistry is located in Room 412. Patients are only accepted on a physician referral basis.

The Department operates a special clinic providing dental treatment to mentally and physically challenged adults, in collaboration with other medical departments such as the Wasser Pain Management Centre. The Graduate Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is now at the Department of Dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital.

 

The Department of Dentistry offers appointments in the following specialty areas:

  • dentistry for persons with disabilities;
  • oral medicine and pathology;
  • periodontics;
  • endodontics;
  • oral and maxillofacial surgery;
